Starting Your Publishing Journey: A Beginner's Guide
Countless writers find themselves ready to place their thoughts and stories on paper at some point in their lives. They are ready to start captivating an audience, whoever that may be.
No matter the goal the writer has, they are ready to take a step into the unknown. A journey to becoming a published writer.
When I started writing my first book for publication six years ago, I had a dream of getting my story in front of readers. That was it. I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it, but I knew it was going to happen.
Now, knowing nothing about publication I jumped in feet first. After some research, my husband helped me hire Amazon’s publishing services and my first book was born. But…I wanted to make more books and didn’t know how to do it without paying an arm and a leg, as some of these all-in-one services come with a large price tag. There wasn’t really much information about self-publishing out there at the time and I felt utterly defeated. Yes, I could start querying, but I truly didn’t feel that was the path for me. (And it isn’t for everyone.)
This got me thinking. How many other authors out there are struggling with the same thing? Ready to take the plunge but not sure where to start.
Through my years networking with other authors on projects or on social media I found that lots of writers didn’t know where to begin or felt stuck in the publication process altogether.
So, how does A Journey to Publication: a Beginners Guide help you? This book and course are going to show you what you need to not only establish yourself as a writer but also to explain both the Traditional and Self-Publishing process’s to you. (Because it’s helpful to have an overview of both.) I am also going to cover how you build a brand for yourself as an author.
This course includes activities such as writing your synopsis, practicing writing queries with example agent profiles, and more. By the end, you will have built a great platform that starts you off running.
Hopefully, when you’ve finished these, you have a better understanding of the publishing world and are more comfortable choosing the right publishing path for you.
