Writing Conditions

1 min read

I have been trying to find some time to finish my three projects however things seem to get in the way. With a three-year-old at home finding the time or a comfortable space to sit down and write seems impossible at times. Some places that I find comfortable are in my recliner chair while I put something on the tv for brain breaks or playing some music on Pandora. I also write up on my bed or at the dining room table.

Important writing space ideas:

Space: Find somewhere that is comfortable. Comfort to me is the best place that you can write for a long time. A place that allows you to feel inspired as well. I also like to make sure that I have a notepad to write down notes for future chapters, access to coffee or hot tea, and a plug for my computer charger.

Inspiration: I find that sometimes when I am needing some inspiration I need to have something on the TV, my cell phone nearby for a quick Facebook skim or some good music available. These are some of the things that help me when I am stuck or need to think of what to write next. Some of my favorite Pandora stations are Goo Goo Dolls, Eric Church, Yellowcard, Seether, or even some classical when I find I am focusing more on the lyrics and singing rather than writing.

Helpers: As silly as it sounds I have a small network of people that I have to ask questions and run some things by to help myself out. I think this is also very important.
